During the year 200X a magical portal was found deep in a cave lost in the Japanese countryside. The portal led to Nekoterre, a world entirely populated by cat girls.

The year is 2020, 22 years into the future, and over a decade since the Nekoterre was discovered. Ryosuke, a cram school student in Tokyo who has failed all of college exams, is always down on his luck. To make matters worse, he spends another Valentine's Day alone.

Two weeks after a lonely holiday, Ryosuke decides to quit cram school and live his life slumming it out with dead end jobs. After getting hired at a small mom and pop shop, he heads back home to his apartment. As he's approaching his 4-unit building, there is a long shadow bedecked with cat ears reaching across the pavement. He looks up to briefly see a silhouette but looks away because of the harsh sunlight.

Suddenly, the person leaps from the building and lands onto Ryosuke! As he regains his consciousness he sees a cat girl. She somehow already knows Ryosuke's name, and begins to reference things only Ryosuke would know. Moments later women in all black suits begin appearing and the girl forcibly makes Ryosuke take her in.
